Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
DoubleSync is made by MomentApproach - Unipessoal, Lda. (NIPC 510670520), a company registered in Portugal that trades as Double Shore (“we”, “us”). These terms cover your use of this website and of the DoubleSync software (“the Software”). The Software itself is licensed under the DoubleSync Software License Agreement, which is included in every package. If the two differ, the License Agreement applies to the Software.
2. Editions
- Community is free. It includes schema sync and the diff preview, on up to two environments.
- Pro is an annual subscription. It includes every feature, for one project.
- Agency is an annual subscription with the same features as Pro, for an unlimited number of projects, with priority support.
- Perpetual is a one-time purchase with the Pro features, for the Umbraco LTS line you bought it for (see section 6).
Every feature of Pro, including Umbraco Forms sync, is also available during the 30-day trial. The trial starts only when you press Start trial in the DoubleSync section of your backoffice. Installing the package does not start it. When the trial ends, the Software returns to Community and nothing is deleted.
3. What counts as a project
A project is the set of Umbraco installations that deliver one website on one domain: local development machines, development, UAT, staging, production and load-balanced servers. The licence also covers the subdomains of that domain. Everyone working on the project shares the one licence. The domain must be yours; a shared service-provider domain does not count.
4. Licence keys and package access
A licence key belongs to the domain it was issued for. Please do not share it publicly. If a key is exposed, write to us and we will issue a new one. Access to our private package feed is personal to you. Please do not share the credentials. We can revoke a key or feed access if these terms or the License Agreement are broken.
An Agency licence is issued to one company and covers the client projects that company builds or maintains itself. It must not be shared with, lent to or used by another agency or company, who need a licence of their own. Every installation reports its site address when it checks its licence, so we can see where a key is used, and we may revoke a key that is shared and contact the company it was issued to.
5. Buying, renewing and paying
You can ask for a licence from the DoubleSync section of your backoffice or through this website. We review the request, then send you an invoice. For payment by bank transfer, the licence key is issued when the payment arrives. Prices are before VAT. We add Portuguese VAT where it applies, and we invoice without VAT when you give us a valid VAT number from another EU country (reverse charge).
Pro and Agency licences last one year. We will send you the renewal invoice before the end date. If the licence is not renewed, everything keeps working for seven more days. After that, the paid features stop and the Software returns to Community. Your Umbraco site keeps running normally. If you pay by card through Stripe with a card or SEPA direct debit, the subscription renews automatically every year at the price then in force until you cancel it. We email you before each renewal. You can cancel any time in your account, under Billing. The subscription then ends at the end of the year you already paid for, and you are not charged again. You can also change the card or direct debit there.
6. Perpetual licence updates
A Perpetual licence includes free updates for every Umbraco major version up to and including the last one before the next LTS release. Bought on Umbraco 17, that covers Umbraco 17, 18, 19 and 20, with no time limit. When the next LTS ships, a one-time €200 renewal gives you a new key for the following cycle. The Software never stops working. If you upgrade Umbraco beyond your key’s version without renewing, DoubleSync falls back to the free Community features.
7. Refunds
Every paid licence has a 30-day money-back guarantee. If DoubleSync does not meet your needs, email us within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full.
8. Your data
DoubleSync does not send your content to us. When you sync between your own sites, the data goes directly from one to the other. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.
9. Support
Community users can use the documentation. Pro users get email support. Agency users get priority email support with faster replies. Write to support@double-shore.com with your DoubleSync version, the edition shown on the Overview page and what you did.
10. Limits of our responsibility
DoubleSync is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for data loss, downtime or other damage from using it. Please test a sync on a staging site before you apply it to production. Checkpoints help you go back, but they do not replace backups.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email active licence holders about material changes. If you keep using the Software after a change, you accept it.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and the Portuguese courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
