Sync Bundles

Package schema and content into portable ZIP files for offline transfer and project templates.

What Are Sync Bundles?

Sync Bundles (also called SyncPacks) are portable ZIP archives containing schema, content, media, and/or people data. They can be created from any environment and imported into any other environment, without requiring a direct network connection between them.

Use Cases

Air-gapped production servers — Transfer updates via USB or secure file share

Project templates — Package a starter site with pre-configured schema and sample content

Client handoff — Share complete site structure with clients who run their own Umbraco instances

Backup and restore — Create point-in-time snapshots you can store offline

Creating a Bundle

Navigate to the Sync Bundles section in the DoubleSync dashboard. Click "Create Bundle" and select what to include:

Schema items (document types, data types, etc.)

Content nodes (with optional tree picker)

Media items (with optional binary files)

People (users, groups, members)

Give the bundle a name and description, then click "Build". The ZIP file will be generated and available for download.

Importing a Bundle

In the Sync Bundles section, click "Import Bundle" and upload the ZIP file. DoubleSync will show you a preview of what the bundle contains and what will change on import. Review the changes, then click "Apply" to import.

Requirements

Sync Bundles require a Pro, Agency, or Perpetual license.
