People Sync
Sync users, user groups, members, and member groups between Umbraco environments.
Overview
People sync keeps your team structure consistent across environments. When you add a new editor group on staging, sync it to production without manual recreation. This is a feature unique to DoubleSync — neither uSync nor Umbraco Deploy supports people sync.
What Gets Synced
User groups — with section access, content start nodes, media start nodes, and granular permissions
Users — with group membership, language preferences, and settings
Member groups — for front-end membership areas
Members — with custom property values and group membership
Security Considerations
People sync does not transfer passwords or authentication tokens. Users synced to a new environment will need to set their password through Umbraco's password reset flow. This is by design — credentials should never be transferred between environments.
Requirements
People sync requires a Pro, Agency, or Perpetual license.
